JustFacts ("the service") is a free news summary service operated by Attereon, available on the web at news.attereon.com and as an iOS app. By using the service, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the service.
JustFacts has no user accounts, names, or passwords. Your preferences are associated with a random identifier generated on your device. If you clear your device's data (or your browser's site data), that link is severed and your preferences start fresh. How your data is handled is described in the Privacy Policy.
News summaries, story timelines, and the daily audio brief are generated automatically by AI models from publicly available news reporting. Despite our focus on factual accuracy, automated summaries may contain errors, omissions, or outdated information. They are provided for general information only and are not professional, legal, financial, medical, or investment advice. Always verify important facts against the linked original sources before relying on them.
Each story links to the original reporting it summarizes. Those articles, and the sites that host them, belong to their respective publishers and are governed by those publishers' own terms. Attereon does not control and is not responsible for third-party content.
You agree not to use JustFacts to scrape or programmatically harvest the service beyond ordinary personal use, to disrupt or overload the service, to resell access, or to circumvent security measures. If you add your own Google AI Studio API key for local and topic news, you are responsible for using it in accordance with Google's terms.
The JustFacts Daily podcast is provided free of charge and "as is." Episodes are AI-generated audio summaries of the same public reporting and are subject to the same accuracy caveats as written summaries. Episodes are removed from our servers on a rolling schedule and are not an archive of record.
JustFacts is a free service. Attereon may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time, and may restrict use that violates these terms. You can stop using the service at any time; see the Privacy Policy for how to have server-side data deleted.
The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Attereon shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages arising out of or relating to the service, including any reliance on summarized content. Because the service is free, Attereon's total liability for any claim is limited to $10 USD.
We may update these terms from time to time. We will provide notice of material changes through the app or website. Continued use of JustFacts after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
